AstraZeneca Infographic
I have been getting a lot of questions on the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, and while data is evolving, here is some information Dr Elisabeth Marnik and I put together on its efficacy and safety.
So far, it is very effective in preventing severe illness, hospitalization and death – both from clinical trial data as well as real-world experience.
The question on blood clots has been coming up as well. So far, we have not seen an increased signal for this. But we will monitor for new data and update when more info is made available.
Bottom-line: Another good vaccine option that is safe and effective in reducing the risk of severe Covid-19 infections. It is also very effective in protecting against hospitalization and death. Further, it is stored at 2-8C (simple refrigeration) and can be easily transported.
